The Rilke quote beautifully reminds us that uncertainty isn’t just something to endure—it’s something to embrace, even love.

My biggest takeaway? Worry doesn’t have to paralyze us. It’s about learning to sit with the discomfort, focus on what’s actionable, and let life unfold with all its messiness. Definitely a perspective worth practicing!

Love this. I learned that worries are thoughts running into our minds and the point always in how we find wisdom to cope with them. Maybe the secret is in the serenity prayer:

The wisdom to know the difference between what we can and cannot control.

This is so helpful...I've just had a long conversation with my daughter about some of these issues and I'm going to save this post and go back to it if I hit a worry spiral...thank you!

I’m really glad I came across this newsletter. Being new to Substack, I’m still figuring out where to land :)

The connection between worry and uncertainty really hit home for me. Letting go of the need for certainty is something I’m (slowly) learning to do, and I appreciated the perspective you shared here. Especially the idea of approaching uncertainty with a lighter, more playful mindset. That’s something I’d like to try.

Thank you for such a thoughtful and relatable piece!

Thank you for this insight. I am due to give birth in about 3 weeks time and have been wanting more and more time to finish off somethings round the house I want to before baby comes. I find the uncertainty of when birth could happen worrying me a bit like an unknown deadline that I know can say time out anytime. Luckily I feel like I got to a place where I can be like I have done everything I almost wanted to do but learning to be ok with uncertainty is something I am still figuring out.

Thanks for sharing this, Anisha. That is a big uncertainty and not an easy one to deal with. I’m glad you’re in a better place now and that you’re more accepting of uncertainty. And yes, we’re all figuring things out on the way!
